Kidepo River is a seasonal river along the Kidepo Valley in the Karamoja region of Uganda, this river traverse the district of Kabongo and flows its water in White Nile of south Sudan. The Kidepo River is always flows during the rainy season in months of April to May and September to November where animals gather and drink water and sometimes they disperse from the valleys, moving to higher and drier ground where they are not so easily seen.

During the rainy season, even if you decide to see it from far, the side of calm water gives you the reason to cool your body no matter the weather. The river is located 11 kilometres past the Kanangorok Hot Springs along the Sudan border. It is a marvelous place to sit down and observe the mountains far past the frontier. Kidepo drives its name from its season river called Kidepo, the word Kidepo in Karamojong local diorite meaning picking up something from down, and this valley was frequented by people travelling to collect fallen borassus fruits to use for fermenting when making palm beer.
